The Mite program continues to be the AHYHA’s largest and fastest-growing program. We are very committed to fostering skill development, healthy competition, sportsmanship, and teamwork within the program.
The Mite program will offer four levels of play (A through D), with an 8U/6U levels specifically for girls. While the primary focus will be on skill development, there will also be games against other associations within our district, keeping the competition close to home.
Once registration is complete, you can follow updates for the Mite program on the AHYHA Mites Team page. Mite and 8U players will be evaluated using the Hockey Education Program (HEP). While the HEP is not a tryout, the results will be used to balance teams and/or place players at the appropriate level to ensure their skill development is maximized.
Please carefully check your player’s eligibility before proceeding. All Mite/8U players must reside within the Andover Huskies Youth Hockey Association boundaries in order to participate. Beginning with the 2024-2025 season, MN Hockey has ruled that no waivers will be granted at the Mite/8U level.
Players with pre-existing waivers from prior seasons who continue to attend an Andover school may still participate with their waiver, provided they submit proof of school enrollment.
For further details, please review the information on the AHYHA eligibility page. Player Eligibility Information.
