*Note on USA Hockey: ALL players (regardless of age) will be required to register through USA Hockey when you sign up for Jr Huskies (there will be a link when you register).  Registration through USA Hockey is FREE unless your child was born in 2004 or earlier.  In this case, the charge is $40.  To help off-set this cost, we will credit your account for $40 and you can use that credit towards any future AHYHA program.  Please note that if you attended the Fall Session of Jr Huskies, you can use that same USA Hockey number as it is good for the full hockey season.

Jr. Huskies Beginner Course

Jr. Huskies Beginner course is designed for children age 3-6, with little or no experience, who are not quite ready to skate independently. This course is ideal for anyone who has gone through the "Learn to Skate" program, and who needs more practice skating. Walkers are provided for assistance. Sessions last 1 hour, and include professional instruction in group settings.  Sessions focus on basic skating fundamentals, confidence building and fun games. Upon completion, participants should be ready for Jr. Huskies Advanced.  Your child will need ice skates to participate, we will provide the rest of the equipment at no cost (you will put a $150 deposit down at the beginning that you will get returned to you at the end when you return the equipment).  All kids will get a jersey and hockey stick that they get to keep!

*Important- The beginner progam works best for a participant when a parent or guardian has provided some one-on-one experience prior to registration. Children in this age group are not always ready to participate, which is why we will offer a credit if they don't complete the program, so they can return when they are ready.
