Jr Huskies Presents Introduction to Hockey!

The Jr Huskie program is designed for boys & girls, ages 4-8, who can skate independently without assistance. The Fall program consists of 8, (one hour), sessions. Each session will start with 5-10 minutes of free play time. A professional instructor will then lead the participants in a group format thru a series of skating exercises designed to enhance edge work, and build confidence, (10-15 minutes). After a water break, the instructor will lead the group thru basic Hockey fundamentals including, stickhandling, passing, shooting, rushing the puck, give and go's etc., (10-15 minutes). After another water break, the last 10-15 minutes will include various tag games, focusing on FUN!
Upon completion of Jr Huskies, participants should be ready for 3 X 3 Hockey in the Andover Mite and U8 programs.
Saturday Sessions: 9/18, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6 and, 11/13. All Saturday sessions are from 9:20am - 10:20am. Note scheduling change, 9/25 session removed, 11/13 session added.
Tuesday Sessions: 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2 and 11/9. All Tuesday Sessions are from 5:20pm - 6:20pm.
Cost - $73 + $6 registration fee. No Refunds. If your child is unable to complete the sessions, Jr Huskies will issue a credit. Please go to the registration tab on the left hand side to register now for Jr Huskies. All sessions are conducted in a safe environment at the Andover Community Center.
Required equipment (besides hockey skates) is provided at no cost upon receipt of a deposit check in the amount of $100.00, made out to AHYHA. These checks will be held, and not cashed. All participants will be sent a welcome email several days prior to the first session, regarding check in. Upon completion of the program, equipment bags will be collected, and deposit checks will be shredded.
