Andover Huskies Youth Hockey Association

Thank you to all the volunteers that worked so hard at our Mite Winter Classic and Squirt B2 tournament to make this past weekend a big success .  We are fortunate to have so many great families in our association.

Andover High School Girls Hockey Senior Night Game is Saturday, January 28th. Andover Huskies will be celebrating senior night, playing against Grand Rapids Thunderhawks at Andover Community Center.  Puck drops at 1pm for JV and 3pm for Varsity.  Please join us in honoring our seniors before the 3pm varsity game.  Congratulations to our seniors - #1 Amanda Koltes, #5 Ellie Haskins, #8 Nicole Klosterman, #22 Olivia Vogel and #35 Madde Denny.  Way to go Huskies!

Sweet Hockey Training is an online video training module developed by former NHL'er and Golden Gopher Captian, Lance Pitlick. This module includes videos for all levels from skating to advanced stick handling.

Coaches will have access to the Coaches Drill Vault for guidance on setting up effective and fun practices.

The 2^nd annual AHYHA Food Drive results are in, and its official hockey families are competitive! As an association, we raised 2254.75 lbs. of food and donated over 52 bags of winter clothing. WOW! This is 12 times more than we collected in 2010! We spread the donations over 3 food shelves in Blaine, East Bethel and Anoka. The response we received from them was overwhelming gratitude and appreciation for our association’s contributions.

The top team coming in with over 500 lbs. was Squirt A’s, 2^nd place went to Peewee B2’s and 3^rd to Bantam A’s. Thank you to all the teams who contributed in making this year an incredible success. This has truly shown that our association has a willingness and drive to give back to our community!

Skaters Keep Achieving Through Education (S.K.A.T.E) was established to encourage, support, and reward youth hockey players who commit themselves to their schoolwork while enjoying the sport of hockey.  This year the SKATE banquet will be held on March 4, 2012.  Please click the SKATE link on the left for more information, the application deadline is January 15, 2012.
